Description

These shearling and suede mittens lined with cashmere combine two materials that differ in look and in feel, and are made for cold days in the city as well as for winter walks. The shearling back gives volume and softness, while the suede palm offers a velvety contrast that is felt from the very first moment the hands slip inside. The hand stays warm beneath the shearling, while the suede on the palm makes movement lighter and helps the grip.

Shearling is the protagonist of the model. Its dense, curly fleece catches the light and gives the surface a soft depth that continues to the side edges of the mitten. It is available in plain and in patchwork versions, where tiles of different colours are set together to form a design of curved lines.

Only in the two patchwork versions is the back made from shearling offcuts that could otherwise no longer be used. The various pieces are cut by hand and assembled in a symmetrical, precise design, identical for the right and the left hand. Mounted and sewn inside out, the pieces have curved outlines that appear joined flush, with no overlaps. Only afterwards is the oval shape of the mitten refined. It is a complex process that demands extreme precision from both the cutter and the person who sews.

On the palm, the suede follows the movement of the hand and stays flexible, in a full, even colour. The shearling panels and suede sections are cut by hand in all versions, in the Milan atelier, where production is entirely Italian.

The inside is lined with 100% cashmere, which retains body heat and makes the mitten soft to the touch. The mitten shape keeps the fingers close together and increases the sense of shelter. An elastic at the wrist helps the mitten stay in place and limits the entry of cold air.

The material warmth of shearling softens the stiffness of wool-cloth coats and suits parkas and oversized down jackets. These shearling and suede mittens lined with cashmere, the result of an artisan mastery that can be read in every seam, add a touch of character without weighing down the outfit, and the patchwork versions become an accent of colour in the winter wardrobe.
