The Coppa d’Oro delle Dolomiti 2024 will take place in Cortina d’Ampezzo from July 18 to 21, with Marco Rosati and Alessandro Ricciotti representing the Restelli Guanti brand in their Lancia Beta Montecarlo. Here’s what these passionate participants shared with us.

What motivated you to participate in the Coppa d’Oro delle Dolomiti and how did you decide to represent the Restelli Guanti brand at this event?

Marco Rosati (Pilot):

“The common thread that led me to these choices is simply about “condensing” and reliving good memories. Memories of a child spending summers in the Dolomites with the family, memories of a teenager (unfortunately the only one in the family) passionate about motors, who over the years has delved into and learned to love this world, made up of excellent people and timeless projects. Finally, as an adult, fulfilling the dream of driving in one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the world, in a car that I believe represents a perfect blend of design and technological innovation of its time. The choice to contact Restelli to propose a partnership in this adventure was once again a very natural process. My way of understanding and living classic car driving fully reflects the ideals and love for quality craftsmanship that Restelli infuses into their products. Additionally, as a designer, I can only appreciate the design value of such a useful and beautiful accessory as a Restelli glove, crafted with artisanal techniques and the best raw materials.”

How are you preparing for the role of navigator in such an important event and what techniques will you use to ensure precise navigation?

Alessandro Ricciotti (Navigator):

“Being at our first event of this type, we decided to contact a fellow countryman and multiple award-winner, Giampaolo Paciaroni, who, at the age of 90, enlightened us on the discipline of regularity. We then equipped ourselves with the necessary instrumentation to practice and apply the lessons we learned.”

What are the main challenges you anticipate facing during the stages through the Dolomites and how are you preparing to overcome them?

Marco Rosati (Pilot):

“A premise is necessary. For Alessandro and me, this is the first time at such an important official event. Until now, we have participated in small “Regularity” events organized by our local clubs. We will test ourselves, focusing on minimizing errors on the stopwatch but with the desire to fully enjoy the event.”

What is your favorite part of the route and why, and what moments do you think will be the most memorable during the race?

Alessandro Ricciotti (Navigator):

“We are curious to discover all the beauty and uniqueness that the route offers, but certainly, during the first stage of the event, we will be amazed to see the sunset light over the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (UNESCO World Heritage Site). We will try to fully experience every moment of the event, confident that we can share such an important event with other enthusiasts.”

Can you share the emotions you feel driving the Lancia Beta Montecarlo and what this rare vehicle represents for you?

Marco Rosati (Pilot):

“Do you know what a time machine is? Getting into the cockpit, turning the key, and hearing the engine come to life is the prelude to an experience you could have only lived in the era when the car was commonly on the road. For me, the Lancia Beta Montecarlo represents a refined blend of industrial design and automotive engineering, characteristics that still provide great emotions today.”
