The dialogue between suede and nappa
The back is made of suede, which gives a matte, velvety surface that holds the light rather than reflecting it. This is also why suede works so well with colour: shades appear deep on it, never strident, and shift slightly with the light of the day. The palm is in smooth nappa, a choice that answers a practical need before an aesthetic one: it is the part of the hand that works, that takes hold of the steering wheel, the door handle, the suitcase, and nappa offers a pleasant grip along with good resistance to daily use. The two leathers meet along the fingers, where the artisanal stitching traces the outline of the glove with precision.
The warmth of cashmere
Inside, the art. 55 men’s suede and nappa gloves are lined in pure cashmere. It is a lining that warms without stiffening the glove, leaving the hand its freedom of movement while protecting it from the cold and the wind of Milanese mornings. At the wrist, metal snap fastenings close the glove with a clean gesture, holding the warmth inside and defining the line of the model.
From the workshop to the Temporary Shop
Every pair is born in our Milan workshop, where the experienced hands of our artisans cut the leather, assemble it and finish it one stage after another. It is work that asks for time and concentration, and it shows in the details: the regularity of the stitching, the fit of the lining, the cleanness of the edges. Suede in particular calls for careful reading before cutting, since each portion has its own stretch and has to be oriented the right way.
These new shades will soon join the ones already available in our online shop, and you will find them at the Temporary Shop as well, due to open in early November.
